Come November and winter’s first snowflakes, two magical words spring to mind: Christmas markets! We are very fortunate to host the oldest outdoor Christmas market in Quebec: Cap-Santé’s Marché du Noël d’antan, in its enchanting setting, is worthy of the most beautiful holiday postcard you can imagine! In November and December, the region of Portneuf’s Christmas markets offer magic, crafts, and delights to spoil your loved ones and help you prepare for your holiday festivities. Let me tell you all about them:
Cap-Santé’s Marché du Noël d’antan
From November 28 - 30, Quebec’s oldest outdoor Christmas market returns for its 23rd edition. This year like every year, we strive to bring our visitors a holiday experience in the tradition of our grandparents. The entire heart of the village transforms into a Christmas market, with some 70 artisans offering their finest products. Entertainment, children’s activities, craft items, agri-foodstuffs and plenty of surprises await you.

Neuville Christmas Market
On December 6 and 7, in the chancel of the church in Neuville, the Neuville Christmas Market offers a wide variety of agri-food products from Neuville and the region of Portneuf mainly, such as maple products, meats, wine, pickles and jams, as well as works and items by artists and artisans. There will also be musical entertainment and a children’s area, all amid the enchanting backdrop of the church.

Noël au village in Deschambault
On December 13, the heart of Deschambault will liven up with the holiday spirit (postponed until the following day in the event of inclement weather). For the occasion, the summer public market producers, processors and merchants will be back outside on rue de l’Église to showcase their products. At the old presbytery and the Sisters’ sacristy, visit the Christmas market artists and artisans to find the best of local crafts and an array of original ideas to spoil your loved ones.

Saint-Raymond Christmas Market
After a busy summer full of exciting discoveries, Saint-Raymond’s Farmers’ Market is planning its second Christmas market! On December 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church square, you will find a host of local delights to put under your Christmas tree, in your stockings or on the table for your holiday festivities. In the event of inclement weather, the market will be moved indoors to Centre multifonctionnel Rolland-Dion.

The Secret Valley
From November 16 to December 22, the Secret Valley presents Santa Claus’ little spies around the world. Get into the holiday spirit by discovering a myriad of Christmas traditions and legends from around the world on a magical forest trail. What’s more, the members of the Teeny-Tiny Dwarfs’ Hiding Place present a Christmas legend about a Teeny-Tiny Dwarf’s encounter with three very special ghosts!
