6 activities to get off the beaten track this winter

1 – Dog sledding
Dive into the magical world of the snowy forests on a guided dog sledding tour, an iconic winter activity offered by Au Chalet en Bois Rond. Whether you are passing through or staying in a chalet, experience an unforgettable excursion with the energy of the pack and the expertise of the guides.
2 – Climb an icy via ferrata
Combining hiking and rock climbing, this guided activity in Vallée Bras-du-Nord offers a safe climbing experience with steel cables and specialized equipment. Whether it’s simply to admire the beauty of it or for a climb (climbing activity reserved for FQME members), it won’t fail to impress!
6 – Ride your fat bike along snow-covered trails
Fat bikes—or bikes with oversized tires—are increasingly popular with families looking for winter adventure. Thanks to their wide wheels that glide smoothly over snow, these bikes allow you to explore forest trails with ease. Several sites, including Centre nature de Saint-Basile, Base de plein air de Portneuf, Vallée Bras-du-Nord and Au Chalet en Bois Rond, offer dozens of kilometres of snow-covered trails for all levels.
