1 – Dog sledding
Dive into the magical world of the snowy forests on a guided dog sledding tour, an iconic winter activity offered by Au Chalet en Bois Rond. Whether you are passing through or staying in a chalet, experience an unforgettable excursion with the energy of the pack and the expertise of the guides.

2 – Climb an icy via ferrata
Combining hiking and rock climbing, this guided activity in Vallée Bras-du-Nord offers a safe climbing experience with steel cables and specialized equipment. No experience is necessary, and you can even extend the adventure with a 50-metre abseil or a 150-metre triple zip line for an extra dose of adrenaline.

3 – Try your hand at ice fishing
The region is ideal for ice fishing with the family, whether you’re a newcomer to the activity or not. Several bodies of water, notably in Réserve faunique de Portneuf and ZEC Batiscan-Neilson, are accessible for day trips or overnight stays. Get your entry fee to ensure fun and fish are on your menu! The Au Chalet en Bois Rond nature village also offers this family activity on its stocked lake.

4 – Explore Vallée Bras-du-Nord on snowshoes or backcountry skis
Hok skiing, a hybrid between snowshoeing and Nordic skiing, gives you the freedom to explore the forest on its powder snow. For thrill seekers, the Gravity sector offers over 35 hectares of skiable terrain for backcountry skiing, with immersive descents and breathtaking panoramic views. Find out more

5 – Take in the frozen landscapes and experience ice climbing
Discover our frozen wonders at spectacular natural sites. Frozen waterfalls, crystallized rock faces and ice-covered rivers create magical scenery that can be explored on foot. The ice climbing wall is a real star attraction in Parc naturel régional de Portneuf. Whether it’s simply to admire the beauty of it or for a climb (climbing activity reserved for FQME members), it won’t fail to impress!

6 – Ride your fat bike along snow-covered trails
Fat bikes—or bikes with oversized tires—are increasingly popular with families looking for winter adventure. Thanks to their wide wheels that glide smoothly over snow, these bikes allow you to explore forest trails with ease. Several sites, including Centre nature de Saint-Basile, Base de plein air de Portneuf, Vallée Bras-du-Nord and Au Chalet en Bois Rond, offer dozens of kilometres of snow-covered trails for all levels.
