“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” Albert Camus
For a few weeks now, Portneuf’s forests have flaunted their most splendid colours, reminding us—fortunately for some; unfortunately for others—that winter is just around the corner!
But let’s not rush into things. Let’s take advantage of this beautiful season to visit or revisit the region and its attractions. Any type of cycling (road, trail or mountain) is a fantastic way to take in the magic of the landscapes.
The next few weeks will also be the perfect time to get back into nature walks. Nearly every municipality in the region has its own little trails. Whether they be hidden treasures or well known to all, there is no doubt they will reconnect you with the outdoors. Here are but a few that are well worth the detour: Neuville’s Réserve naturelle du Marais-Léon-Provancher, Centre de plein air Dansereau and Promenade Jacques-Cartier in Pont-Rouge, Saint-Raymond’s Tourbière Chute-Panet and Vallée Bras-du-Nord, and Parc naturel régional de Portneuf in Saint-Alban.
And don’t miss out on the autumn scenery along the St. Lawrence River shoreline: it is amazing! You can enjoy wonderful panoramas and get a new perspective on our beautiful region using one of the numerous access points to the shore.
In closing, it would be a real pity if I forgot to invite you to join us in the numerous fun Halloween activities we are holding in many of our region’s municipalities.
For further information on the activities, see our event calendar: https://tourisme.portneuf.com/evenements.
